Most Wanted Reads: Chained by Night by Larissa Ione

Most Wanted Reads is inspired by Waiting on Wednesday hosted/created by Breaking the Spine. I just wanted to personalize it a little bit for me.

Leader of the vampire clan MoonBound, Hunter will do what he must to save his people from extinction—or worse, a torturous eternity as vampire slaves and subjects of human experimentation. To keep his enemies at bay, he has agreed to mate a rival clan leader’s daughter in return for peace between the clans and an ally in the looming war with the humans.

But survival comes at a price. First, Hunter must break an ancient curse by successfully negotiating three deadly tests. Then he must resist the searing passions of the gorgeous vampire warrior he despises but is bound to mate. Will Hunter stay true to his word? Or will he risk everything for the woman he really loves: the vampire seductress’s identical twin sister?

I am really just in the mood for another Larissa Ione book. I miss this woman's paranormal romance books! And I so need to devour another one!

Review: Banishing the Dark by Jenn Bennett

Title:  Banishing the Dark
Author:  Jenn Bennett
Series:  Arcadia Bell, #4
Publisher:  Pocket Books
Release Date:  May 27, 2014
Pages:  384

Complicated does not begin to describe Arcadia Bell's life right now: unnatural magical power, another brush with death, and a murderous mother who's not only overbearing but determined to take permanent possession of Cady's body. Forced to delve deep into the mystery surrounding her own birth, Cady must uncover which evil spell her parents cast during her conception…and how to reverse it. Fast.

As she and her lover Lon embark on a dangerous journey through her magical past, Lon's teenage son Jupe sneaks off for his own investigation. Each family secret they uncover is darker than the last, and Cady, who has worn many identities—Moonchild, mage, fugitive—is about to add one more to the list.

I cannot believe this was the last book! What a short series! I think I just wanted Arcadia Bell to go on forever, because it was such an awesome series! BANISHING THE DARK is where we wrap everything up. A bombshell cliffhanger happened in the previous book, Binding the Shadows. Cady was locked up by Dare, killed Dare and was sent to the hospital. Oh, and the last thing she heard before she passed out was that she was pregnant with Lon's baby.

In BANISHING THE DARK, Cady is on a mission to get her mother out of her head and keeping her from finding out about the baby by any means possible. And completely stopping her altogether. She has quite the task for her and Lon and Jupe, (decided by Jupe himself) decide to help her anyway that they can. And the best part. Jupe has his own chapters. We get to dive right into the mind of Jupe Butler!

I'm not going to give anything away, because I want you to read it for yourself and find out. I enjoyed the Arcadia Bell series immensely. Jenn Bennett really made some fun and unqiue here and I enjoyed every minute of this series. I'm looking forward to more books by Jenn Bennett.

Review: Kiss of a Demon King by Kresley Cole

Title:  Kiss of a Demon King
Author:  Kresley Cole
Series:  Immortals After Dark, #7
Publisher:  Pocket
Release Date:  January 20, 2009
Pages:  417

Sabine, Sorceress of Illusions: the evil beauty who surrenders her body, but not her heart.

Rydstrom Woede: the ruthless warrior who vows to keep her at all costs.

With each smoldering encounter, their shared hunger only increases. If they can defeat the sinister enemy that stands between them, will Sabine make the ultimate sacrifice for her demon? Or will the proud king lay down his crown and arms to save his sorceress?

I went into KISS OF A DEMON KING really nervous. I've read reviews, people. And the reviews come to be true. I liked this installment, but I didn't love it. The first half of the book was dreadfully boring, and I was screaming in my mind, please just something happen anything! Then the second half was so amazing that I couldn't stop reading it. So there we go with that.

She may be an evil bitch, but she is my evil bitch. And I'll have no other.

A huge theme in Kresley Cole's books are that the hero or heroine is somewhat of an ass to her/his mate. It wasn't way over the top in KISS OF A DEMON KING, I Just didn't enjoy the treatment that Sabine bestowed upon Rydstrom or Rydstrom upon Sabine. But that changed during the second half of the book, and before I knew it I couldn't stop reading this book.

“You leave me tied up like a dog? Then you had better remember that this bitch bites!”

When they really fell for each other, I loved the sweetness and magic Kresley Cole brings to these romance books. That woman definitely works magic! Overall, it wasn't my favorite of the Immortal After Dark books, but it was still a pretty damn good installment.

Review: Dark Needs at a Night's Edge by Kresley Cole

Title:  Dark Needs at a Night's Edge
Author:  Kresley Cole
Series:  Immortals After Dark, #5
Publisher:  Pocket
Release Date:  April 29, 2008

Naomi Laress, a famous ballerina from a past century, became a phantom the night she was murdered. Imbued with otherworldly powers but invisible to the living, she haunts her beloved home, scaring away trespassers -- until she encounters a ruthless

To prevent him from harming others, Conrad Wroth's brothers imprison him in an abandoned manor. But there, a female only he can see seems determined to drive him further into madness. The exquisite creature torments him with desire, leaving his body racked with lust and his soul torn as he finds himself coveting her for his own.

Yet even if Conrad can win Naomi, evil still surrounds her. Once he returns to the brutality of his past to protect her, will he succumb to the dark needs seething inside him?

"A ballerina. And now a ghost." "A warlord and now a vampire." She couldn't help but chuckle at the disparity. "What a pair we make."

I held off DARK NEEDS AT A NIGHT'S EDGE for a long time, because I felt very nervous reading it. A ghost as the heroine? Seriously?! I just didn't think I would like it. I mean how was that going to work out?! But I bow down to you, Kresley Cole. You've made it work wonderfully and I could not for the life of me put down this book. I lost some sleep over it! I will never doubt you again, Kresley Cole.

When he raised himself up, he gave her a sexy, cocky grin that made her breath hitch. "I was good, wasn't I?"

DARK NEEDS AT A NIGHT'S EDGE is about Wroth brother, Conrad! And Oh, my! I have fallen in love with these Wroth Brothers! All of the brothers were present for this book and dear god, I want them all to myself. Sebastian will forever be my favorite Wroth brother though, Conrad in second place! Conrad is a tortured soul and you know that's how I like my hero's best. Becoming a vampire was something Conrad desperately didn't want, and he has been through a lot. My heart beat deep for him.

You told me you would've helped the Russian plunge his sword to be with me—I would've run into Louis's blade for a chance with you."

Néomi was our heroine and a ghost at that. I loved her, she was bright and so full of life and I think she is one of the many reasons I did enjoy the book. My heart burned for her. How she died was so devastating, it broke my heart, but because of the situations bother Conrad and Néomi are in now, him a vampire and her dying and becoming a ghost is how they have found each other. Conrad is very protective of Néomi and I love seeing that alpha male side to him! So , here's to another Kresley Cole book I ended up devouring!I definitely look forward to reading more of these Immortals After Dark books!
